Family Health America, LC (FHA) began operations in 1996. Within the first few months of operation, FHA was selected by Coventry Healthcare of Kansas to provide a specialty health HMO for about 25,000 members located in south central Kansas. Since that time FHA capitated chiropractic care for other insurance companies, then developed the EmpowerChiro network, a national chiropractic network consisting of nearly 7,000 chiropractors throughout the nation. All EmpowerChiro chiropractors are credentialed to meet the standards set forth by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA), the highest standards in the industry.

In 2014, EmpowerChiro became the exclusive chiropractic network for TriWest Healthcare Alliance, a medical provider network serving Military Veterans in much of the nation. The EmpowerChiro network is accessed by insurance companies and payers covering nearly 30 million members.
